Considering the drivers were actually sitting in the middle of a 40 plus gallon, thin-walled, aluminum fuel tank filled with very exotic and volatile fuel, who could blame them? what were those? The conventional wisdom in those days was that it was better to be thrown from the car during an accident than be belted into it. Increased horsepower, no down force, rock-hard bias-ply tires, fuel tanks placed not only in the cockpit with the drivers, but specifically fabricated and molded in such a way as to surround the driver, and seat belts. With few of the safety features and engine restrictions required on today's race cars, the 1967 Formula 1 season was one of the most dangerous in Motorsports history. To put it bluntly, it's fun because it is harshly and at times brutally realistic. "How could a racing simulation modeled after the 1967 Formula 1 Season be fun?" they asked.
When the creators of the ever-popular NASCAR series of racing simulations, Papyrus, decided to create a historical Grand Prix racing simulation, many people were confused. What's the point of fantasy driving without some semi-realistic risks? But that doesn't mean I'm a Grand Prix Legends masochist, either. Nothing turns me off faster than arcade driving games where you pilot a rubbery box around a track, bouncing off walls and fellow motorists with impunity. These games had a great combination of physics and force feedback. I spent many hours tooling around the tracks in Viper Racing and Sports Car GT. There's something about a quality steering wheel with physics-driven force feedback effects that really delivers on the sensation of driving.
GTR: Evolution is probably the best game to try out your Wheel, Accelerator and Breaking device.I've been a PC racing game enthusiast since the day I wrapped my hands around my first force-feedback wheel in 1999- the classic wire driven Logitech Formula Force. It all even seems too easy at a first, but you will notice that you will need a lot more to achieve a good position in the race. Every car’s attitude and specifics on the road are very realistic. Just like the previous products of SimBin Company, GTR: Evolution’s secret keys into the way you drive the car and the driving system itself. Your expectations for a soundtrack will be gone soon. Regarding the sound, it again could have been better but they are acceptable. The interior of your car is far from perfect, and the general car effects are rusty. The car and track graphical details won’t make your eyes blink happily. The graphics and sound effects of the expansion are not anything special, just like the Race 07 version. The race track is frequently used by Porsche and BMW for tests, and is also open for normal visitors. The beauty of the so-called Green Hell is that it’s one of the most dangerous and most demanding purpose-built race tracks in the world. Unlike the rest of the game, GTR Evolution includes one of the most famous race tracks ever – Nurburgring, or specifically its north part - Nordschleife (Northern Loop). However, the main and most considerable change is a single race track. Like any other racing expansions, GTR: Evolution allows you to see and test some new cars and other new small stuff that you will hardly notice. Thanks to the game you can find all the vehicles and races during 20 from WTCC. There are of course few prototypes which are really there.
We also have to point out here that some of the vehicles don’t exist in the real world. Basically the new miracle of racing gives us the opportunity to see some new cars and 19 new maps. From here there are two ways in which GTR is distributed.
No matter that the name of the simulation proposes something new to see, in fact the game itself is just an expansion for the official simulator of World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). One of the latest examples for this is GTR: Evolution.
Happily, the gaming world is full with games which can give you a small and nearly realistic drive without bringing your dictionary of insults with you. To surive, you either need a vast dictionary of insults, a full speed drive on Sunday for relaxation, and some unneeded vinyls on your car, making it more attractive (or at least you’d think that way). You can see dangerous racings on the street, pathetic traffic jams and a special type of daltonic visions which stops you from distinguishing red from green. The driving on the streets lately is a real mess, I would call it a small tournament even.
